I believe people hold an innate ability to heal, and that therapy can help clear the path toward greater insight, growth, and wholeness.

Hi, I’m Ryann Koval, LCMHCA, ATR-P.

I’m a therapist and art therapist who helps children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate emotional challenges, strengthen coping skills, and move toward healing and growth. I show up with warmth, authenticity, and respect for each person’s unique story, while offering a supportive space to build insight, express emotions, and work through what feels stuck. My approach is grounded in the belief that people have an innate capacity for healing, and that therapy can help uncover obstacles, deepen self-understanding, and support meaningful change.

Outside of work, I enjoy art and creative expression, walks and hiking, cozy quiet spaces, cats, and opportunities to travel and experience different cultures. Having grown up overseas and traveled to many parts of the world, I have a deep appreciation for different people, places, and ways of living. I’m also someone who values the simple moments that help life feel grounded and meaningful.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an art teacher and was deeply moved by the growth I saw in students that went far beyond artistic skill. Some of the most meaningful changes showed up in confidence, emotional growth, persistence, and the willingness to keep trying, especially in students others often felt frustrated with or overlooked. That experience helped clarify a deeper calling toward counseling and art therapy, where there could be more space to support the whole person and honor the kind of progress that does not always show up on a report card.

Nourished by creativity, quiet spaces, time outdoors, and meaningful connection.
